About Us

Lauren Thomson - Director and Physiotherapist

I am a qualified physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) degree from Brunel University London, graduating in 2018. My career began in Liverpool, UK, where I completed rotations across various hospital departments, including older persons’ health, respiratory care, general medicine, musculoskeletal outpatients, and the emergency department. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was re-deployed to critical care, working on the COVID critical care wards, an experience that strengthened my resilience and adaptability as a clinician.Following this, I progressed to a senior physiotherapy role before relocating to New Zealand in January 2022. Since moving, I have worked across orthopaedic and older persons’ health wards before transitioning into a community-based role supporting individuals with progressive neurological conditions and those who are unable to attend clinic-based appointments.

My diverse experience across hospital and community settings has equipped me with the ability to manage a wide range of conditions with a holistic, client-focused approach. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and believe that rehabilitation should be both effective and enjoyable—balancing challenge with encouragement to inspire lasting progress.

I have a special interest in working with people living with Parkinson’s disease, tailoring best practice exercise programmes to support mobility, independence and overall wellbeing. I have experience supporting patients and their families at home living with complex progressive neurological conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease, providing education and guidance to enhance quality of life and help individuals achieve their personal goals.
